| If you are looking at getting into a form of martial arts I would not advice you to do karate. I am a black belt in Taekwondo and would not advise you to get into that either. Jiu Jitsu or Jiu Do is your best bet. When the UFC started, most people only knew one form of martial arts. The winner of the first three UFC's is a guy named Royce Gracie. He was a master of Jiu Jitsu. Once he took someone to the ground they had nothing. The United States Army's hand to hand combat is basically Jiu Jitsu. We tweak it a little because of the uniform we wear and because we want to kill our opponent. Every single fighter in today's UFC is very well fluent in Jiu Jitsu. It's how they take their opponent to the ground and what they do after they are on the ground. I am level 2 in army combatives. Our instructor told us not to waste our money with any other form of martial arts. |

| If you want to study real karate, you'd have to go to Japan.....or learn from someone like Chuck Norris (insert Chuck Norris fact here :p ). |
